Fugaku Arms Tenkaichi With Core Staff, Cast, and a Spring 2027 Debut

Studio Fugaku just put real steel on the table for its next fight card. The official site for Tenkaichi — the TV adaptation of Yousuke Nakamaru and Kyoutarou Azuma's alternate-history tournament manga — is live, and with it comes the production spine fans have been waiting for: director Masashi Abe, series composition by Kazuharu Sato, character designs from Ryōji Nakamori, and a score by Hayato Matsuo. Broadcast is locked for April 2027.
The first voices through the gate match the manga's opening brawl. Gen Sato steps in as Miyamoto Musashi, Kenichirō Matsuda as the unstoppable Honda Tadakatsu, and veteran Kenyū Horiuchi as the dying warlord Oda Nobunaga — the man who, in this timeline, already unified Japan and now wants history's strongest fighter to inherit the realm.
A teaser promo and key visual hit alongside the staff drop, framing Musashi versus Tadakatsu under Nobunaga's cold gaze. The setup is pure pressure-cooker spectacle: rival generals bankroll their champions, the ring decides the throne, and Fugaku has to sell every bone-cracking exchange.
For a studio still carving its name on big-swing action, this is a statement booking — classic Japanese history twisted into a bloodsport bracket, with a creative team built for kinetic violence. Volume 14 of the manga lands later this month; the anime clock now runs until spring 2027.
