Destiny Unchain Online Gets TV Anime as Crimson Devil Climbs the Ladder

The closed beta just went full production: Destiny Unchain Online: How I Became the Crimson Devil is officially getting a television anime. A brand-new project account opened to confirm the adaptation of resn’s VRMMO adventure fantasy, and illustrator-mangaka Yachimoto marked the moment with a celebratory key illustration of the series’ fanged heroine.

The story follows Kou Mitsuki—better known online as Crim the Headhunter—a player with near-mythic skill who scores a seat in the closed beta of Destiny Unchain Online, the immersive VR title his own father helped build. Once he logs in, a glitch (or something stranger) boots him into the body of a vampire-race beauty, and the campaign shifts from clean climbs to unpredictable party chaos with a cast of oddball allies.

resn first serialized the tale on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2020 before moving it to Kakuyomu; Kodansha later picked it up for print under K Ranobe Books, with Yachimoto on art. The manga spin-off has been running on Magazine Pocket since 2022 and just shipped volume 13, while Kodansha’s K Manga service has been carrying the English edition as Destiny Unchain Online: How I Became the Crimson Devil.
