Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle I Lands on Crunchyroll July 28 After Record Box Office Run

The theatrical curtain is finally lifting on one of anime's biggest blockbusters. During its Anime Expo 2026 panel on Friday, Crunchyroll confirmed that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai, the opening chapter of ufotable's Infinity Castle trilogy, will begin streaming worldwide on July 28 — everywhere outside Japan and mainland China.
Fans who missed the big-screen spectacle will have options. Crunchyroll will host the film under the title Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I, while digital storefronts including Apple TV, Prime Video, Google Play, YouTube, and Fandango will offer purchase access the same day. The rollout is deliberately global in scale: beyond Japanese audio with English subtitles, Crunchyroll is delivering an English dub alongside localized voice tracks in more than a dozen languages, from Hindi and Tamil to Brazilian Portuguese and Polish.
The timing caps a staggering theatrical journey. The film dominated Japanese cinemas for 266 days after its July 2025 premiere, moving nearly 27.5 million tickets and earning roughly 40.2 billion yen domestically. Worldwide, it crossed 98.5 million admissions and surpassed 117.9 billion yen in revenue — making it the first Japanese production ever to break the 100-billion-yen global earnings barrier and one of the top animated releases of 2025.
For the anime industry, the announcement signals how premium theatrical windows are shrinking for tentpole titles. After months of sold-out screenings, awards-season recognition, and repeated North American theatrical returns, Sony and Crunchyroll are moving the franchise's crown jewel to subscription streaming with unusual speed and linguistic breadth. With two more Infinity Castle films still ahead, July 28 may be the moment millions of viewers finally step into the castle — from their couches.
