Absolute Duo

Synopsis

At Kouryou Academy High School, students known as Blazers manifest weapons from their souls and must form pairs to strive for the title of Absolute Duo. Tooru Kokonoe enrolls in the academy driven by a quest for strength and revenge after an unknown assailant murdered his sister and friends. During the opening ceremony, he is compelled into a duel with the student beside him, where defeat means expulsion. Just as Tooru readies himself for battle, his soul inexplicably manifests a shield rather than a weapon, drawing the attention of Julie Sigtuna, a foreign exchange student.

Background

Episode 1 was previewed at a screening at Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo on December 28, 2014. Regular broadcasting began on January 4, 2015.
