As a bonus for Promare attendees, character cards featuring serial codes were handed out, providing access to an early streaming version of a prequel anime. This prequel's story occurs one day prior to the events of Promare.

In this installment

Thirty years after a catastrophic event, a new kind of mutant known as the Burnish appeared, wielding flames and causing widespread destruction among humans. These mutants continue to emerge sporadically, leaving havoc in their wake. Promepolis, an independent republic, thrives under the leadership of Kray Foresight, who has led the fight against the Burnish threat. The Burning Rescue, a highly skilled firefighting squad equipped with advanced technology designed by mechanic Lucia Fex, plays a key role in combating these dangers. Galo Thymos, a young and enthusiastic admirer of Foresight, joins the Burning Rescue as its newest member. Meanwhile, a militant group called the Mad Burnish operates within the country, creating chaos. After a fierce clash with the group’s leader, Lio Fotia, Galo embarks on a journey to uncover the truth about the Burnish, forcing him to question everything he once believed.

Background

Promare reunites the creative team of and , specifically director Hiroyuki Imaishi and screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima. The film had been in development since 2013 and was first announced at Anime Expo in Los Angeles in 2017.
