Synopsis

After being abandoned by their cruel parents, the Hasegawa siblings, Utsutsu and Yume, are drawn to vivid red butterflies that suddenly appear around them. Unbeknownst to them, these scarlet-winged creatures signal the coming outbreak of a terrifying virus called Pupa. Yume becomes fully consumed by Pupa, transforming into a monstrous entity with an insatiable craving for human flesh. Meanwhile, Utsutsu only partially contracts the virus, gaining extraordinary regenerative abilities. True to his long-held promise, Utsutsu is determined to do whatever it takes to stay by his beloved sister's side. Pupa follows the story of a devoted brother's relentless struggle to save his sister and protect the world from her voracious hunger.
