Getter Robo G
ゲッターロボG
Synopsis
Continues the story of Getter Robo
The Dinosaur Kingdom emerges from deep underground, intending to eradicate humanity and take over the world using their mechanical dinosaurs. When a prototype Getter Robo gets shot down by one of these mechanical dinosaurs, the Saotome Research Institute opts to deploy the fully combat-ready Getter Robo instead. Needing pilots, Ryo Nagare heads to his college to recruit martial artist Musashi Tomoe and the reclusive Hayato Jin, convincing them to team up with him and pilot the Getter Machines to fight this new menace and defend humanity.
In this installment
Following the Dinosaur Empire's final defeat and the death of Musashi Tomoe in the original Getter Robo series, a new threat emerges. Dr. Saotome, the creator of Getter Robo, suspects that the peace won by the Getter Robo team will not last and that even stronger enemies will appear. This fear proves accurate when the militaristic Hyakki (or "Hundred Demons") Empire makes its move. However, Dr. Saotome is ready, having developed an upgraded Getter Robo—Getter Robo G—along with a new base. With Musashi Tomoe gone, a third pilot is needed, and Dr. Saotome recruits baseball player Benkei Kuruma to fill the role.
