Aki no Kanade

Synopsis

In "Aki no Kanade," Aki Miyagawa has treasured the sounds of traditional Japanese drums since her childhood. As a professional drummer based in Tokyo, she finds it challenging to maintain her passion while working a second job to support herself. A phone call from Michio Yoshioka, her former drum teacher, gives her an opportunity to return to her hometown and reflect on the journey that brought her to her current situation, rekindling her enthusiasm for music along the way.

Background

Aki no Kanade was one of the four films of Anime Mirai 2015 (Young Animator Training Project), a project funded by the Japanese government's Agency of Cultural Affairs in order to support training animators.
