In the wake of the catastrophic assault on Re-Estize's capital, the Guardians of the Great Tomb of Nazarick reunite with their master, Ainz Ooal Gown. With all extensive preparations finalized, they stand ready to execute their grand design for global domination. While Ainz's dominion continues to spread, daily life carries on across the world. The once-rescued Carne Village flourishes despite the persistent threats surrounding it. Simultaneously, in the northeastern reaches of the Baharuth Empire, the Bloody Emperor confronts the surging influence of Nazarick. In E-Rantel, the vibrant capital of the newly established Sorcerer Kingdom, a severe supply crisis is unfolding. Once a flourishing trade center, the city now faces turmoil as its inhabitants live in fear and distrust of their ruler, Ainz Ooal Gown. To address this emergency, Ainz sends Albedo on a diplomatic assignment to E-Rantel. Simultaneously, the cardinals of the Slane Theocracy gather to devise a strategy against Ainz following his crushing defeat of the Re-Estize Kingdom's army, with the goal of having the Baharuth Empire annex the Sorcerer Kingdom. However, when Emperor Jircniv Rune Farlord El Nix meets the Theocracy's representatives in a coliseum, he is shocked to encounter Ainz in person. With their secret meeting revealed, the emperor and his entourage realize that Ainz has issued a duel challenge to the Warrior King, the empire's most powerful warrior. Baffled by Ainz's intentions, Jircniv can only watch as the destiny of humanity hangs in the balance.

Overlord IV was released on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan from October 26, 2022 to December 23, 2022. It adapts volumes 10, 11, and 14 of the light novel series.
