Synopsis

Continues the story of Aggretsuko (ONA) 3rd Season

After a difficult breakup, Retsuko, the red panda, decides to avoid romantic relationships with real individuals and instead focuses on virtual reality, where her digital companion provides endless flattery and cute outfits, albeit at a price. Struggling with financial issues, Retsuko has an accident while driving a rental car, colliding with a parked van. The van belongs to Hyoudou, a strict cheetah who employs her as an accountant for his underground idol group. The demanding nature of her new job pushes Retsuko to her breaking point, often triggering her rage through death metal karaoke sessions. As she navigates these challenges, Retsuko wonders if she desires a mundane life or if there is more to be found outside her office walls. Can Retsuko find success both professionally and romantically, or will she settle for the routine of her cubicle life?

In the fifth season of Aggretsuko, red panda office worker Retsuko and her hyena coworker Haida are now in a relationship, giving Retsuko a fresh sense of optimism. However, Haida is secretly dealing with unemployment and an escalating addiction to video games. As he keeps these problems from Retsuko, the tension begins to damage their bond. Matters get worse when Haida is evicted and ends up in an internet café, where he encounters Shikabane, a skunk and fellow online acquaintance. The hidden issues in Haida's life push their relationship toward a turbulent breaking point, especially with a major presidential election on the horizon. Adding further complication, one of the political candidates takes a strong interest in Retsuko because of her singing ability, making their lives even more complicated.
