Aggretsuko

Synopsis

A 25-year-old red panda named Retsuko faces daily stress at her workplace, where her boss makes sexist remarks and her coworkers treat her with condescension. Despite her hard work and commitment, her small stature and gentle nature often make her an easy target. When her frustration reaches its limit, Retsuko copes by imagining herself performing aggressive death metal karaoke, screaming about the hypocrisy and ridiculousness of her colleagues and corporate life. Although this cathartic fantasy stays only in her head, it gives her an essential way to deal with her anger in a society fixated on status and appearances.
