Synopsis
In "Skip Beat!", Kyouko Mogami dedicates herself to working tirelessly at various jobs to assist her childhood friend, Shoutarou "Shou" Fuwa, in his pursuit of becoming a renowned idol. Despite the exhausting schedule, Kyouko remains steadfast, fueled by her deep affection for Shou and her willingness to do whatever it takes to support him. However, her world crumbles when she overhears Shou callously dismiss her as merely a disposable helper whom he holds no regard for. Fueled by anger over this betrayal, Kyouko swears vengeance against her once-adored friend by entering the competitive entertainment industry to outshine him. Navigating the ruthless environment of show business presents numerous challenges, often testing her resolve to its limits. Nevertheless, Kyouko's unyielding ambition and thirst for retribution propel her forward, as she strives relentlessly to achieve the pinnacle of success.
Background
Following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2016, Skip Beat! was released on DVD and Blu-ray by Pied Piper in March 2018. This North American home video release included an all-new English dub.
