The anime series Xiongmao Monogatari TaoTao revolves around Taotao, a young panda. In the stories, Taotao embarks on adventures with his animal friends and listens to the tales told by his mother, the mommy panda. It was created as a joint Chinese-Japanese production.

In a Chinese valley untouched by human presence resides a small panda named Tao Tao. Alongside his companions—Kiki the monkey, Puhu the squirrel, and Poe the hare—he spends his days playing throughout the forest.
