After the Rain

Synopsis

In "After the Rain," Akira Tachibana is a reserved high school student who was once a promising track athlete until a serious foot injury ended her running career. Though her peers consider her attractive, Akira remains uninterested in the attention from her male classmates. She begins working at the Garden Cafe, where she gradually develops romantic feelings for the 45-year-old manager, Masami Kondou. Despite their significant age gap, Kondou's genuine kindness and compassion toward his customers—traits often mistaken for weakness by others—strike a deep chord with Akira. As their interactions at the cafe grow more frequent, so does the intensity of her feelings. Struggling with her emotions, Akira ultimately decides to confess, setting the stage for an emotional revelation.
