To You in the Beyond Adds Uesaka, Hatano & Co., Theme Song Olive, Full Trailer

The team behind To You in the Beyond (Doko yori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e) just cranked the autumn film hype into high gear. Official channels dropped a wave of supporting cast, a polished main visual, and the full theatrical trailer, lining everything up for the movie’s Japan-wide bow on October 9—after a July 4 preview at Anime Expo.

Joining the ensemble are Sumire Uesaka as Tamaki Mishima, Wataru Hatano as Shuuji Aiba, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Akimitsu Yano, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yoshiki Suka. Singer-songwriter Tota (Anne Shirley) handles the theme track “Olive,” which rides over the new promo’s most atmospheric cuts.

Junichi Wada directs at TMS Entertainment, with Sayaka Kuwamura on the screenplay, Fumi Katou designing characters, and Kouji Nakamura scoring. The film adapts Akiko Abe’s 2017 Shueisha Orange Bunko mystery-romance novel—illustrated by syo5—about island secrets, a girl found at a “cove of spiriting away,” and the word “1974.” A manga by Haruka Chino has also been running on Tonari no Young Jump since August 2025.
