Shueisha Flags Sakamoto Days Climax as Jump Hitman Saga Hits Endgame

Shueisha just put the endgame stamp on one of Jump’s biggest modern hits. Issue 34 of Weekly Shonen Jump revealed that Sakamoto Days—Yuuto Suzuki’s action-comedy about a legendary assassin who traded kill lists for a corner store and a family—is officially heading into its climax.

The series has already been locked in its self-declared “final battle” since August 2025, with retired hitman Taro Sakamoto and his crew trading blows against the shadows pulling the underworld’s strings. Jump’s climax notice is the hard flag fans watch for: not a multi-year “final saga” tease, but a signal that the finish line is truly in sight after a run that began with a 2019 Jump Giga one-shot and weekly serialization from November 2020.

English readers can still keep pace through VIZ Media and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus, while the franchise keeps expanding off the page. The Sakamoto Holidays spinoff continues in Saikyō Jump, a live-action film opened in Japan this spring to strong holiday-week box office, and TMS Entertainment’s TV anime—already two cours deep on TV Tokyo and Netflix—returns for a second season in January 2027, now with a closed source book to plan against.
