Yatsume, Mumyoui
Summary
Yatsume hails from an ancient gold mining lineage where familial custom involved elongating limbs with gold rings to enhance mining efficiency. This practice resulted in Yatsume possessing arms and legs roughly one and a half times the normal length, with his left arm being exceptionally twice as long and fitted with metal claws. He also had his teeth sharpened into fangs during his youth. To support his clan’s financial decline, Yatsume joined the Yaminobu Shadow Warriors in their attempt to assassinate Kenshin. After Kenshin defeated him, Yatsume swore revenge and returned during the Jinchū arc under Enishi’s command. However, he was quickly bested by Saitō before he could confront Kenshin. Following this defeat, Kenshin offered Yatsume the chance to fight him but advised him to head north and use his unique physical traits to aid his clan. Yatsume was subsequently arrested by the police. Among the participants in the Jinchū arc, he displayed the most camaraderie toward his peers, greeting them formally from a ceiling hole, and ultimately accepted Kenshin’s mercy to move forward with his life. He was one of only three members of the "6 Comrades" driven by a genuine obsession with avenging himself against Kenshin.
