Uxie

Summary

Uxie is a diminutive, gray Pokémon with a fairy-like appearance, featuring two tails encrusted with red gems and a partially yellow face with a similar gem set into its forehead. Its head shape vaguely resembles a helmet or a human brain. Along with Mesprit and Azelf, Uxie is one of the lake guardians created by Arceus, known in Sinnoh mythology as the Being of Knowledge. It keeps its eyes closed at all times, as anyone who sees them will have their memories wiped. Feared and respected for this power, particularly its ability to erase the memories of wicked individuals, Uxie possesses a spirit that can leave its body without causing death and return at will. It is credited with creating all knowledge in the Pokémon universe and granting humans the capacity to adapt and learn, which led to its title as the Being of Knowledge. Upon its emergence, humans acquired the knowledge necessary to solve problems and enhance their quality of life. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Uxie demonstrates the ability to create illusions, while episodes like The Needs of the Three! and The Battle Finale of Legend! show it can teleport itself, other Pokémon, and humans. Although shy, Uxie will attack forcefully if it or its friends are threatened. Alongside the other lake guardians, Uxie is required to create a Red Chain, either through gems from its body or its claw, and they can also destroy one. They can calm either Dialga or Palkia when enraged, but not both simultaneously. Uxie resides in Lake Acuity, specifically in the Acuity Cavern at the lake's center. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it is shown to speak human language via telepathy.
