Summary

Kalinin is a former Spetsnaz operative who previously led the team that discovered a crashed Japanese airliner, where he rescued Sousuke, then a three-year-old survivor. His history with Sousuke was once hostile, a fact the younger man has acknowledged in past episodes, though Kalinin currently functions as a deeply fatherly figure. He has expressed regret over his inability to maintain strong family ties with his wife due to his demanding Spetsnaz duties, yet he holds her in high esteem, even recreating her signature Borscht to welcome him home from missions—a dish Sousuke goes to great lengths to avoid.
