Silver Link Promotes In-House Talent for Sasaki and Peeps Season 2

Silver Link, the studio that brought the first season of the offbeat fantasy series to life in 2024, revealed a new teaser visual and promotional video this week alongside the long-awaited October 2026 broadcast window. The updates confirm the quirky story of middle-aged salaryman Sasaki and his mysterious otherworldly pet bird will return with a re-energized production team drawn heavily from within the studio’s own ranks.

Yūshi Ibe, who previously worked as assistant director and episode director on season one, has been promoted to series director. Yamato Ouchi steps into the assistant director role, while several other key positions have gone to staff members who cut their teeth on the original run. Kazunori Ozawa moves from animation director to action supervisor, Yūko Shintani takes over as compositing director of photography, and Tsutomu Ogasawara advances to 3D director. The moves signal Silver Link’s clear preference for building continuity through internal promotions rather than bringing in outside directors for the sequel.

Core creative voices from the first season are staying on to preserve the show’s distinctive tone. Deko Akao returns for series composition, Saori Nakashiki handles character design and chief animation director duties alongside Yuki Sawairi, and the art, color, and sound teams feature returning leads Yūki Araki, Shiho Mizumoto, and Nobuyuki Abe. Fresh additions include music producers Kōji Fujimoto and Osamu Sasaki. The entire production once again falls under Silver Link’s animation banner, with Crunchyroll set to stream the new season globally.
