JUVENAGE Boards Studio Cabana Music Romance for 2027 TV Run

Kadokawa flipped the green light this week for a television anime of Agri Uma’s music-and-youth romance Studio Cabana, handing animation production to JUVENAGE—the 2020-founded house still stacking its first wave of lead credits after recent work like Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods. Broadcast is locked for 2027, and the official site is already live with a teaser visual that frames the story’s bittersweet, song-soaked tone.

Helming the project is Shin’ichirō Ushijima, the filmmaker behind the tear-jerker I Want to Eat Your Pancreas and the idol ensemble UniteUp!. Series composition falls to Sawako Hirabayashi, while Haruka Sagawa (Call of the Night) handles character design—an emotionally sharp staff lineup for a title that lives on quiet glances and late-night practice-room confessions.

Sayumi Suzushiro (Bocchi the Rock!) returns as straight-laced high schooler Yukari Maki, the role she first voiced in a 2022 promo for the manga. Casting for mysterious “delinquent” classmate Yūsuke Kusaka—secret vocalist of the band the oops—remains under wraps, though a character visual has already dropped. The plot hinges on Yukari following a rumor into Studio Cabana itself, only to hear a side of Yūsuke she never imagined.

Uma’s series has been running on pixiv Sylph since 2021, with over half a million copies in circulation and volume 9 due August 21. Yen Press will bring the manga to English readers starting winter 2027. For a young studio still defining its brand, a high-profile music romance with this pedigree is a loud signal that JUVENAGE wants more than supporting gigs—it wants the full chorus.
