Kohane Hatoya’s most endearing quality is also her greatest weakness: she is endlessly eager to assist others, often going to extreme lengths to get the job done. This relentless drive was sparked in middle school when she witnessed cheerleading for the first time. Now in high school, her enthusiasm has not dimmed, and her primary goal is to establish her own cheerleading squad. Her best friend, Uki Sawatari, supports this ambition, though she frequently finds herself rescuing Kohane from the trouble her zeal creates. The main obstacle is Kohane’s complete lack of cheerleading experience; she has no clue about the routines, the attire, or the techniques. Compounding her difficulties is a lifelong fear of heights, which poses a significant challenge given that cheerleading involves numerous aerial stunts. Enter Hizume Arima, a former cheerleader who intends to leave her pastime behind. However, Kohane spots Hizume and is determined to recruit her as the squad’s leader, forcing Kohane to confront her deep-seated fear of heights in the process.
