In the series Otokogi, Kyosuke Murata is raised under the strict supervision of his overprotective mother Shizuko after his father abandoned them during his childhood. When he becomes an adult, Kyosuke is dragged into the dangerous realm of Japanese organized crime because his mother gets caught up in a gang conflict. He discovers that the boss of the rival Murata-gumi crime family is his long-lost father. Rising through the underworld hierarchy, Kyosuke amasses control over half of Japan's gangs, which forces the other half to unite against him and ignites the largest gang war in the nation's history.

This follow-up to the Otokogi trilogy revolves around the lone heir of Kyosuke Murata and the team he forms, sparking a conflict with the local Yakuza under Kyosuke's leadership. The story takes an unexpected turn when the son ends up incarcerated.
