Synopsis

In "Matoi the Sacred Slayer," Matoi Sumeragi wishes for a quiet life away from attention, finding contentment in her everyday activities like attending school and working part-time at a shrine she co-owns with her close friend, Yuma Kusanagi. Her peaceful existence is shattered when a Night, a hostile entity from another dimension, attacks the shrine. Matoi unintentionally calls upon the power of a deity, the natural enemies of the Nights, to repel the assault. As Matoi struggles to manage this newfound ability, she receives assistance from Claris Tonitolus, a seasoned exorcist from the Vatican, and Haruka Luciela, an operative of IATO, a secret organization focused on defending against Nights. With the identities and motives of their enemies still unclear, Matoi must master her powers to safeguard her friends and preserve the ordinary life she values.
