

Synopsis
Joelle Davidovich Pomponette, known to most as Pompo, is a film producer with extraordinary talent, having inherited her grandfather's industry connections and sharp eye for cinema. Despite her bright prospects, Pompo refuses to produce anything except low-quality B-movies. However, her stance changes when she hands her assistant Gene Fini a screenplay centered on a composer's life, announcing that he has been given his first chance to direct. Determined to create an outstanding film, Gene immerses himself fully in the project. But with an immense workload and a deadline just days away, the novice director grapples with what must be given up in the pursuit of artistic creation.
Background
Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san was set to premiere in 2020, but was delayed to March 19, 2021, due to undisclosed circumstances. The release date was then postponed to June 4, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was nominated for an Annie Award for Best Indie Feature in the 49th Annual Annie Awards.
