Synopsis
Detective Sonia Summers is reassigned to the outskirts of the port city Libra after causing trouble with her superiors. Libra is divided into two zones—"the Upper," a hub of wealth and politics, and "the Outside," where crime, corruption, and strange incidents involving monsters or youkai occur. Every case Sonia investigates seems to point to these mysterious creatures. Sonia encounters three unusual humanoid youkai—Bem, Bela, and Belo—who aim to protect humans and combat the evil youkai that threaten them. Living as "Youkai-Ningen," they are shunned by other youkai for their human-like ways and rejected and hurt by humans when they reveal their true forms. Despite these challenges, the three Youkai-Ningen secretly live among humans, continuing to pursue their dream of one day becoming human themselves.
