Synopsis
Inamura no Hi tells the true story of the historical event of the same name. After the 1854 Nankai earthquake, a tsunami headed toward a small village. The villagers did not understand the danger and refused to evacuate. To force them to move to higher ground, someone set fire to several stacks of harvested rice. As the villagers ran to the fields to put out the fires and save the remaining rice, the tsunami struck and destroyed the village, but all the inhabitants' lives were spared.
