With Chihiro’s help, she tries to navigate her new existence. Though this might seem perfect for a boy seeking a zombie girlfriend, life in Sankarea becomes increasingly strange as Chihiro must manage Rea’s unusual new appetites and the unexpected consequences of her transformation.

Once a hot spring inn, Yuragi-sou now operates as a boarding house with shockingly low rent, but it's nearly empty except for a handful of eccentric residents. Word has it that a dangerous ghost haunts the place, driving away anyone who tries to move in. This makes it the ideal spot for Fuyuzora Kogarashi—a broke, homeless psychic looking for cheap lodging and spirits to exorcise. Kogarashi braces for a showdown with the ghost, only to discover it's not the malevolent entity rumors describe. During the inquiry, Issei becomes possessed by Unas, an Egyptian magician who shares Issei’s lecherous nature. Unas agrees to leave Issei’s body only if they can break the curse placed upon him by a devil he once attempted to force into marriage.

Sakurai Tomoki has adapted to his life alongside the two angeloids, Ikaros and Nymph, and is thoroughly enjoying it. Nevertheless, he is plagued by strange dreams and enlists the aid of his friends to uncover their origin. Nymph creates a device that allows humans, though not angeloids, to enter others' dreams. Although the gadget initially malfunctions, the group eventually succeeds in accessing what should have been Tomoki's dream, only to find that something is deeply amiss. Later, a meteor crashes into the location of the large cherry blossom tree where Tomoki originally found Ikaros. From the wreckage emerges a heavily endowed blonde angeloid wielding a massive sword, who immediately begins hunting for Tomoki.

Kouta is dealing with supernatural romantic troubles. For reasons he can't explain, he keeps drawing the interest—and affection—of animal spirits. After growing up in the countryside, Kouta feels understandably anxious about moving in with his grandmother to attend a high school in the city. He wanted to make a good first impression, but having Chizuru, a beautiful fox spirit, clinging to his arm isn't exactly the image he had in mind. She isn't the only one vying for Kouta's affection, either. Nozomu, a wolf spirit, along with other youkai, have their eyes on the hapless boy from the country.

Yuuto Amakawa leads a fairly normal city life after losing his parents, with his only daily annoyance being his cat allergies while attending school alongside his next-door neighbor Rinko. Everything changes on his sixteenth birthday when an Ayakashi—a supernatural being—attacks him because of his ancestors' transgressions. Himari, a mysterious cat-eared swordswoman, rescues him and reveals that Yuuto is the heir to a line of demon hunters. She explains that the charm protecting him from the supernatural world has lost its power, and she must now guard him. Omamori Himari follows Yuuto as he navigates encounters with various supernatural forces and an increasing number of women who appear at his doorstep, each harboring their own dark intentions. Can Yuuto adapt to his newly "thrilling" life, or will the legacy of his ancestors' past catch up with him?

When he later helps an injured girl, he makes two discoveries: first, the girl is not human but a nekomata—a two-tailed demon cat—and second, Sakuya comes from a family of exorcists who have protected humanity from rogue monsters and spirits for generations. Because Shinichirou is responsible for freeing the nekomata, Sakuya enlists his help in recapturing the demon. But that is only the beginning of his relationship with her. It turns out the Shimazu family needs a housekeeper, and as it happens, Shinichirou excels at cooking and enjoys cleaning. It may not be his dream job, but if it covers the rent and puts food on the table...

Taito has been experiencing excessive drowsiness, and repeatedly dreams about a vampire woman who claims she has injected him with her "poison." However, after miraculously surviving a fatal accident, Taito's life is completely transformed, and he comes to understand that his dreams hold more truth than he initially believed.

This OVA series consists of two episodes, each packaged as a bonus DVD with volumes 6 and 7 of the manga. The first OVA is a prequel written by the manga's creator, showing how Rea and Chihiro first crossed paths before the main story—at an outdoor hot-spring bath. The second OVA is set after the series (effectively serving as episode 14). The Furuya family discovers a mysterious young girl hiding beneath the household temple.
