Synopsis
Sanmao, a destitute orphan, roamed the streets of Shanghai during the 1930s—a time when many dreamed of wealth. Alongside his bald-headed companion Xiao Laizi, Sanmao unexpectedly received grain from the entrepreneur Wu Zifu. Afterward, Sanmao mysteriously fell into a coma, prompting reporter Hou Yiwen to investigate the connection between Wu Zifu and Sanmao.
