Synopsis
Gorou Joe enjoys a relaxed life in the historic little town of Gujo Hachiman, located in Gifu Prefecture. One day, an elderly figure who claims to be a "water fairy" appears before Joe, instructing him to aid others and bestowing upon him the ability to transform into "GJ8 Man"—a name that plays on Gujo Hachiman, since the number 8 is read as "hachi" in Japanese, and the "hachi" in "Hachiman" is written with the kanji for eight.
