Synopsis

Continues the story of Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet

Thirty years after the failed Space Colonization Program, humanity is on the brink of extinction due to an endless, deadly rain. Among the scavengers called "Junkers" who raid the remnants of civilization, one ventures alone into the most dangerous site—a "Sarcophagus City." In the heart of this abandoned metropolis, they discover a pre-War planetarium. There, they meet Hoshino Yumemi, a companion robot who believes she has been waiting thirty years for her first visitor. Despite her confusion and attempts to show the stars with a malfunctioning projector, the Junker eventually agrees to help repair the machine.

Based on Key's visual novel, Planetarian: Hoshi no Hito merges the original story with new narrative elements from the Hoshi no Hito light novel sequel. In a future where nuclear and biological warfare have ravaged much of the world, a young scavenger called a "Junker" comes across a quarantined, abandoned city. Inside a department store, they find a service robot still faithfully waiting for customers in the rooftop planetarium. Despite their usual pragmatic nature, the Junker chooses to help the robot repair the planetarium's projector, a decision that will deeply change both of their futures.
