Anime Like Daimos

In the sleepy town of Bellforest, 14-year-old Renton Thurston dreams of escaping his ordinary life to join the mercenary group Gekkostate. Caught between his grandfather's push for him to become a mechanic and the weight of his late father's reputation, Renton finds his only thrill in riding Trapar wave particles—a form of air surfing that fills the local skies. His world changes when a mysterious object crashes through his family's garage: a Light Finding Operation mecha called the Nirvash typeZERO, which can surf the Trapar waves. Its pilot is a young girl named Eureka, a member of Gekkostate, who asks Renton to tune up the machine. Their encounter sparks Renton's journey into the group as he takes off beside Eureka as the Nirvash's co-pilot.

Private detective Shunsaku Ban and his nephew Kenichi leave Japan for Metropolis as part of an investigation. Metropolis is a restless high-tech city where humans cruelly oppress their robot cohabitants while a dictatorial force gains influence. They are looking into Dr. Laughton, a scientist accused of trafficking human organs, who is supposedly hiding there. What nobody knows is that Dr. Laughton has constructed a highly advanced female android named Tima for Metropolis's most powerful man, Duke Red. When an unforeseen event sets Dr. Laughton's laboratory ablaze, Shunsaku and Kenichi become separated while seeking survivors. Kenichi finds a disoriented Tima and works to protect her from Duke Red's merciless foster son, Rock, who chases after the robot girl. Without realizing Tima is an android, Kenichi grows close to her as a human. At the same time, Shunsaku tries to locate the boy, uncovering dark machinations that develop in the city's shadows—including the vital part Kenichi's new friend plays in Duke Red's ambitious goal for rule.

Three centuries prior, a flawed genetic experiment triggered the mutation of all Earth’s forests. The sentient vegetation turned against humanity, waging a war that transformed the world into a dystopian wasteland. In the present, Agito resides with his father in Neutral City, a settlement existing in a fragile truce with the adjacent woods. While gathering water, Agito loses contact with his companion and discovers a relic from the past: a girl slumbering within an enigmatic machine. After waking Toola Cm Sacl, he brings her to the village, but external powers covet her as the key to restoring the planet. Led astray by Shunack, a soldier from the old era obsessed with annihilating the forest, Toola departs with him, ignoring Agito’s pleas. Resolute in saving Toola and reconciling humans with nature, Agito harnesses the forest’s power to chase after her.

In the Correct Century, two thousand years have passed since a cataclysmic war shattered the world. Earth remains largely uninhabitable, forcing a remnant of humanity to reside on the Moon while the planet and its few remaining survivors slowly recover. For years, the Moonrace has periodically assessed whether Earth is suitable for resettlement. A young man named Loran Cehack is dispatched to Earth for a reconnaissance mission alongside two companions. Loran spends a year on the planet working for the Heim Family, aristocrats living in a society reminiscent of the Victorian era. Like other wealthy families, the Heims celebrate their coming-of-age with a ceremony centered around a massive stone statue called the White Doll. To Loran’s shock, the Moonrace descends upon Earth with intentions of seizing control. During the assault, the White Doll is destroyed, unveiling a mobile suit known as the Turn A Gundam within. Piloted by Loran, the Turn A creates a tense standoff between Earth and Moon forces. The young pilot, alongside people from both factions, must strive to maintain peace and prevent another devastating, all-out war.

In a distant future, Earth's population has grown too large, prompting humanity to seek new worlds for colonization. One colony ship, the Mesopotamia, suffers a critical failure, killing nearly everyone aboard—only six people survive. They manage to reach a nearby planet called Terra II, which closely resembles Earth. However, all six survivors are male. To ensure their efforts are not wasted, they establish six nations and continue their species through cloning and genetic engineering. But without any women, they create highly realistic female androids known as Marionettes to handle daily chores and labor—emotionless machines that lack true feelings. One day, an ordinary boy named Otaru discovers and activates three special battle-type Marionettes that possess emotions thanks to a Maiden Circuit installed inside them. He must guide them and help their emotions develop. When a neighboring country threatens to conquer the world, Otaru and his "human" Marionettes must rise to defend their nation.

Three decades after Lynn Minmay’s efforts to secure peace between the Zentradi and humanity in the events of Macross, the story shifts to Nekki Basara. As the guitarist and vocalist for the band Fire Bomber, Basara resides in the less-developed regions of the flying colony City 7, which is currently searching for a habitable world. He composes and performs music under the conviction that it possesses a profound, transformative power. When an unidentified alien species emerges and lays siege to City 7, their assaults prove unconventional; rather than destroying their targets, they steal "spiritia," leaving victims in a zombie-like, unresponsive state. Amidst these conflicts, Basara consistently ventures into the heart of the battlefield, singing his songs in the hope that both allies and enemies will listen and be moved by his music.

Things in Tomobiki are even more unusual than usual. The students are working hard to prepare for the first day of the student fair, which is supposed to happen the following day. But problems arise when certain individuals notice that the next day simply never arrives. As the students try to find the reason behind this, their concepts of reality and the world of dreams are put to the test.

Set in the year 2300 AD, the story begins when the Radam launch an assault on Earth. Several months into the invasion, a warrior known as Tekkaman Blade arrives. Assisted by the Space Knights, he joins the battle against the Radam, yet he keeps several secrets hidden regarding his own history.

Photon Earth is a kind-hearted boy possessing superhuman strength who has "Baka" (the Japanese word for "idiot") written on his forehead, likely by his mischievous friend Aun Freya. His life takes a strange turn when he ends up engaged to the beautiful fugitive pilot Keyne Acqua after writing "baka" on her forehead. This is only the start of his problems, as he must now shield both Aun and Keyne from the villainous Papacharino, who aims to steal the secrets of "Aho" (another term for idiot) energy from Keyne's grandfather's ship.

When everyone in Tomobiki receives an invitation to Ataru's wedding, Lum goes ballistic—especially since she is not listed as the bride! The reason dates back eleven years, when Ataru played "Shadow Tag" with a young girl named Elle and won. Unfortunately, Elle is yet another alien princess, and on her home planet, stepping on a girl's shadow means they have to marry. When Elle's emissary arrives to make the arrangements, Lum redefines "the atmosphere was electric," but to no avail: a force field now protects Ataru from her high-voltage love zaps. Lum's friend Benten suggests a preemptive wedding, so they proceed to abduct Ataru and all the wedding guests, setting the stage for the shotgun wedding of all time!

After peace was established across most of the universe by the Interstellar Alliance, the Cosmo Academy was founded. This institution is widely considered the most prestigious school in existence, and its graduates are all but guaranteed any career they choose. However, admission is only possible for those who pass the entrance exams held every three years, making the competition incredibly intense. Lane Tadatos is a Terran who has made it to the final stage of the examinations. Assigned to a group of 10 candidates, he is sent to the Esperanza—a ship drifting in orbit. The ultimate test requires them to survive aboard the ship for 53 days with no way to contact the outside world except for an emergency surrender button. But a critical issue arises when the examinees conduct a head count: there are 11 people on the Esperanza, meaning one of them is an impostor.

A young girl named Ange is called to a Sacred Land, where she is selected as the Legendary Etoile—a role meant to rescue the newly formed Cosmos of the Holy Beast, which has recently plunged into peril. Supported by nine Guardians, each wielding the power of one of nine elements, she sets out on a quest to restore the dying land of the Holy Beast and find her own true self.

Li Meifon leads a complimentary protection and security firm that escorts vessels through outer space at no charge. Despite being only 16 years old, she demonstrates remarkable ability and leadership while commanding her crew aboard their ship, the Angel Links. However, disturbing recollections begin to surface, causing her to doubt her own history and purpose. Follow Li Meifon and the Angel Links crew as they journey across the Oracion star system, contending with pirates, governmental factions, and a Tao master, all while gradually revealing Meifon's concealed and shadowy origins.

When Lum was born, a postal error caused a witch who was a friend of the family not to receive an invitation to the celebration. In retaliation, the witch placed a curse on Lum, ensuring she would never find happiness with her True Love. In the present day, a new Amusement Park opens in Tomobiki, and on opening day the whole gang is there enjoying the attractions. During a magic show, Ataru is transformed into a giant pink hippopotamus—for real! As Lum tries to find the magician who changed her Darling, events grow increasingly bizarre and surreal.

Lupica, yet another space princess who apparently discovered Earth through some travel guide, shows up and kidnaps Ataru! However, she isn't after him for his looks or personality—he has neither. Lupica seeks the galaxy's most powerful love potion, which she plans to use to make her beloved agree to marry her. To obtain it, she requires the being with the strongest libido in the universe.

The Urusei Yatsura narrative reaches its peak in this animated adaptation of the final manga story (though not the last movie). Another of Lum's suitors, Lupa, arrives, forcing Lum and Ataru to replay their game of tag to keep Earth from being obliterated. To win, Ataru needs only to utter "I love you"—the three words he has stubbornly never spoken to Lum. Will he confess his genuine feelings and rescue the planet? Or will his stubbornness leave it to face annihilation?

A special recap episode that compiles footage from episodes 48 onward, accompanied by pre-recorded audio that had never been broadcast before. The concept behind this special was an alternative real ending envisioned by the Eureka Seven staff. In March 2012, Studio BONES took existing footage from the TV series, paired it with new, previously unaired audio, and aired the combination together for the first time on television. The audio for episode 51 explains that in order to calm the land, Eureka must set out on a journey to scatter seven fragments of her soul across it. Ultimately, Eureka and Renton must separate, but Renton promises that they will reunite someday, no matter what. Episode 51 has no connection whatsoever to the sequel Eureka Seven AO; this was an actual ending that was never used during the original television run. Eureka Seven AO picks up from the events of episode 50, "Wish Upon a Star."

Unusual occurrences start taking place in Tomobiki Town... When a large cherry tree known as "Tarozakura" is chopped down while Lum and her friends are filming a movie, Lum's horns disappear—along with her powers! This sets the stage for the most bizarre and poetic film in the Urusei Yatsura series.

Three years have passed since Gargoyle and Neo-Atlantis were defeated. A new enemy named Geiger emerges, wielding advanced robotic technology with the goal of triggering a global war and seizing control of the world once the devastation subsides. Nadia and Jean are once again called to action, this time fighting to protect the world from its own self-destruction.

Ataru Moroboshi's mother looks back on how her formerly peaceful middle-class life ended half a year earlier, when alien invaders called the Oni arrived on Earth. Their leader, Mr. Invader, proposed that if a randomly chosen human could defeat his daughter Lum in a game of tag, the planet would be spared. As luck would have it, the fate of the world fell to the housewife's troublesome son. Surprisingly, young Ataru won the challenge—and as a result, Lum became an unexpected addition to the Moroboshi household. Ataru's mother now reflects on all the characters her son has gotten involved with—allies and enemies, human and alien—and the stress their antics have caused her. Unsure whether to admire her son's resilience or consider him pitiful, Mother Moroboshi can only wonder if her family will ever know peace and quiet again. Kaede is a young kunoichi who doubts her chosen path. Her elderly, ill-tempered master Yatsude insists she remain a ninja, and to make matters worse, Kaede has further angered her master by losing a confidential scroll in the woods. Meanwhile, Ataru finds his school excursion to the ancient capital of Nara tedious. But stumbling upon the scroll and catching Kaede's attention makes his field trip a bit more interesting.

Set in a distant future where Earth is perishing, humans are manufactured by artificial intelligence to fill designated societal roles. Among these creations is Godo Shingo, an honest young cadet known for his unusual compassion toward both living beings and robots. Despite ridicule from superiors for his bond with his nursemaid robot, Olga, Godo proves himself as an exceptional sharpshooter and is assigned a critical mission: to capture the immortal bird Phoenix, a legendary creature responsible for the destruction of numerous spaceships. His existence shifts drastically when he falls for Rena, the president’s daughter and fiancée of Rock Holmes, the Chief of the Science Department. After their failed attempt to elope, the lovers are separated, and Godo is condemned to labor in a prison camp. Fortunately, Olga and Pincho, Rena’s alien pet, evade detection and come to his aid. Hi no Tori 2772: Ai no CosmoZone presents a compelling space adventure that examines selfless love as a supreme force.

In a far-off future, humanity has been pushed to the edge of extinction by enormous creatures called Klaxosaurs, forcing the survivors to dwell inside massive fortified cities known as Plantations. Children raised in these cities are trained to pilot giant mechas called FranXX—the only weapons capable of fighting the Klaxosaurs—in male-female pairs. Created solely for the purpose of operating these machines, these children have no knowledge of the outside world and can only justify their existence by protecting their species. Finding her partner dead, Zero Two asks Hiro to pilot the mecha with her, and together they easily defeat the Klaxosaur. With a new partner at his side, Hiro has been given a chance to redeem his past failures—but at what price?

Deep within the earth lies a vast chasm known as the Abyss, teeming with strange creatures and ancient relics from ages long gone. Its origins and what exists at its deepest point remain unsolved mysteries that countless explorers, called Divers, have risked their lives to uncover by descending into its darkest reaches.
