Synopsis
The theatrical anime film is a fully digital (3-D) action/horror movie adapted from a manga by Tamaki Hisao, known to Western audiences for his manga version of Star Wars: A New Hope. Yasushi Nirasawa, a highly regarded creator of creature action figures, handled character designs. Monkey Punch (creator of Lupin III) served as the film's script supervisor. Set in the year 2088, the story portrays a grim future where humans have been turned into "Guilstein," creatures devoid of human souls.
