Rito Yuuki, a timid sixteen-year-old, has long harbored a silent crush on his classmate Haruna Sairenji. His mundane existence is abruptly shattered when a mysterious, naked girl crash-lands into his bathtub. She reveals herself as Lala Satalin Deviluke, an alien princess fleeing an arranged marriage from her sprawling intergalactic empire. To evade this forced union, Lala implores the bewildered Rito to marry her. The story chronicles Rito's struggle to manage the chaos Lala unleashes, while his developing affection for Haruna is continually upended by an ever-growing cast of beautiful girls. The narrative unfolds as a frenetic romantic comedy packed with slapstick, risqué humor, and absurd, gravity-defying scenarios.

In the world of Infinite Stratos, Japan developed the IS, a formidable exoskeleton suit that only females are capable of piloting. Due to its overwhelming destructive potential, an international treaty prohibited its deployment in warfare. Fifteen-year-old Ichika Orimura, who miraculously possesses the ability to operate an IS, is compelled to attend the Infinite Stratos Academy, an exclusive all-girls boarding school dedicated to training IS operators. Upon arrival, he reconnects with childhood friends Houki Shinonono and Lingyin Huang while forging a connection with Cecilia Alcott, the representative from the UK. Closely monitored by his older sister and homeroom teacher, Chifuyu Orimura, Ichika and his fellow students must rely on their piloting abilities to defend the school and themselves against the myriad dangers that arise during their eventful school life.

In a society where personal computers called Persocoms closely resemble humans, the true nature of love is put to the test. Hideki Motosuwa, a young man from the countryside trying to pass his college entrance exams, struggles to make ends meet, making it impossible for him to afford the latest technology: Persocoms, which are humanoid computers. One night, on his way home, he stumbles upon an abandoned Persocom and decides to bring her to his apartment. When he activates her, she responds with only a single word, "Chii," which becomes her name. Unlike other Persocoms, Chii cannot download information, forcing Hideki to manually teach her about life as he studies for his exams. With assistance from his friends, Hideki begins to investigate the mystery surrounding Chii, who might be a "Chobit"—a legendary type of Persocom rumored to possess genuine human emotions, thoughts, and the ability to love their owner. However, the potential for a romantic relationship between a Persocom and a human remains uncertain.

Since childhood, Tomoki Sakurai has been haunted by recurring nightmares of an angel. Concerned for him, his friend Sohara Mitsuki seeks the advice of Eishirou Sugata, an eccentric sky enthusiast. Eishirou suspects Tomoki's visions are connected to the New World, a baffling aerial phenomenon that has left researchers stumped. To investigate, the trio establishes the New World Discovery Club, and Eishirou organizes a special event to observe the skies. However, Tomoki's mundane existence is upended when a mysterious girl descends from the heavens and proclaims him her master. The narrative follows the daily exploits of the New World Discovery Club as they gradually piece together the truth regarding the Angeloids that have begun appearing on Earth.

A new semester starts, and Ichika remains unaware of the affections the girls hold for him. Everyone strives to improve their IS piloting skills, but a fresh danger emerges. The covert organization known as Phantom Task makes its move, stealing IS units from across the globe and targeting Byakushiki—while also seeking to settle a personal grudge.

In "To LOVE Ru Darkness," the already chaotic dynamic between the inhabitants of Planet Deviluke—led by its female royalty—and the humans of Earth, primarily focused on the perpetually exhausted Rito Yuuki, escalates to new heights. When Princesses Nana and Momo transfer to an Earth school under the watchful supervision of their older sister Lala, a fragile peace seems possible. However, Momo's attempt to foster sisterly affection between Rito and Lala is met with fierce resistance from Lala, who opposes any harem formation. Suddenly, Yami—known as the Golden Darkness—arrives with the subtlety of a supernova, bringing a legion of mind-controlled high school students in her wake. This development plunges Rito's life into further despair, unless a certain half-demon princess steps in with formidable Devilukean firepower to restore order.

In Rito Yuuki’s world, calm is hard to come by, as he repeatedly finds himself in awkward situations with the girls around him. Though he remains devoted to his childhood friend Haruna, his feelings for Lala—an alien princess who came to Earth to marry him—grow more complicated. Things escalate when Lala’s younger twin sisters, Momo and Nana, arrive on Earth to meet their future brother-in-law and soon move in with Rito. Adding to the chaos, Yami, a living weapon, also begins pursuing him relentlessly. Caught between mixed emotions, the fallout from his reputation as a pervert, and the threats posed by an assassin, Rito’s daily life stays anything but peaceful.

Sakurai Tomoki has grown accustomed to his daily life alongside the two angeloids, Ikaros and Nymph, and is having a great time. Still, he keeps experiencing strange dreams and asks all his friends to help him figure out what is causing them. Nymph creates a device that allows humans—but not angeloids—to enter other people's dreams. The gadget initially malfunctions, but eventually they manage to reach what should have been Tomoki's dream, only to find that something is seriously off about it. Later, a meteor crashes down from the sky at the spot beneath the large cherry blossom tree where Tomoki first discovered Ikaros. A blonde angeloid with a very large figure and a massive sword steps out of the meteor and begins looking for Tomoki!

In "To LOVE Ru Darkness 2," the emotionless assassin Golden Darkness investigates the secrets of her changed existence, while the malevolent Nemesis secretly manipulates her younger sister, Mea. Alongside their recently discovered mother, Tearju, this once-fractured family now draws widespread attention. At the same time, Princess Momo's Harem Plan encounters obstacles as Rito struggles to confess his long-held feelings to Haruna, who has begun to develop her own emotions. Yet, beneath the apparent calm, a dark force threatens to overshadow the love, happiness, and bonds that Rito and his harem share. Only the power of love may be able to counter the approaching darkness.

In Okinawa, high schooler Kio Kakazu is living a normal life until he faints at his grandfather's memorial when he encounters Eris, a strange girl sporting cat ears. After waking up, Kio finds Eris mostly undressed next to him. She explains that she is an envoy from the planet Catia, sent to collect data on Earth and help build ties between their civilizations. Having been treated so warmly, Eris decides to move in with Kio's family. Their peaceful days are disrupted when agents from several secret organizations, among them Kio's childhood friend Manami Kinjou, try to capture Eris. Determined that Eris will leave Earth with a favorable opinion of humans, Kio promises to protect her and prove to everyone that she poses no danger.

Episode 1: Rito Becomes a Woman Lala creates a device meant to enlarge her bust, but the invention accidentally transforms Rito into a female. Episode 2: Rito and Mikan Mikan feels neglected because Rito is constantly spending time with Lala, so she storms out of the house. While Rito and Lala search for her, flashbacks from the past show Rito and Mikan as children. Episode 3: Welcome to the Southern Resort!! Haruna wins a ten-person all-female trip to an island resort. Thanks to one of Lala's inventions, Rito is turned into a dog and somehow ends up on the island as well. Episode 4: Trouble Quest Rito and the girls become trapped inside an RPG game where the objective is to rescue Lala and defeat the evil witch Kyouko. Episode 5: Nana and Momo During a cherry blossom viewing, Lala's younger sisters cause trouble for Rito and his harem. Episode 6: Draft, Metamorphose, Hand & Tail Yami and Yui have a confrontation with a senior student, causing Yui to lose her panties. While shopping, Mikan finds Peke taking snapshots of new clothing. Then a stranger steals her bag. As Rito attempts to explore Lala's cleaned-up bedroom, he accidentally activates one of Lala's inventions, fusing his hand to Lala's tail.

Meanwhile, Takeya gradually learns more about the DearS, and a legendary DearS bond known as the "Gift" starts to form between them.

A brief flashback recaps the events of the previous Heaven's Lost Property series, leading to the point where an angel named Hiyori Kazane is dreaming while her real body remains in heaven. She has developed a crush on the main protagonist, Tomoki Sakurai, and fights until the end, at which point the world's memory of Hiyori is erased after she dies in her dream and returns to her real body. So desperate is she to go back to her dream that heaven's master modifies her into an Angeloid of Clockwork, but she regains consciousness with Tomoki's help. Even so, that is not enough to save her life.

During the summer vacation, Charlotte hopes to enjoy some personal time with Ichika at his home, but her plans are disrupted when Cecilia also decides to visit. Soon after, Houki, Lingyin, and Laura all show up as well. The following day, Houki assists with her family's shrine for a summer festival and is taken aback to find Ichika there.

A preview in Jump SQ's September issue revealed that the fifteenth volume of To LOVE-Ru Darkness will include a new OVA, scheduled for release on January 4. The OVA consists of two episodes, each with a total runtime of 25 minutes. The first episode, "Ghost Story Kowai no wa Ikaga," is based on a side story from volume nine. The second episode, "Clinic Sunao ni Narenakute," adapts chapter 38.

In the absence of Ichika Orimura, who is visiting the facilities at Kuramochi Engineering, an unknown enemy breaks into the core systems of the IS Academy, causing widespread chaos. To counter this threat and fix the damage, Ichika's sister, Chifuyu, calls on Ichika's harem: Houki Shinonono, Cecilia Alcott, Huang Lingyin, Laura Bodewig, and Charlotte Dunois. They work together to access the academy's network through virtual reality and face the attackers. Unbeknownst to the girls, a harmful program called "World Purge" activates as soon as they enter the digital world. The software traps them in fabricated realities, each showing an idealized romantic scenario with Ichika. When he returns to the IS Academy, Ichika takes action to rescue the five girls from these virtual fantasies.

The story "Automatic Maiden" introduces Mahoro Andou, a highly advanced battle android created by Vesper—a covert organization tasked with protecting Earth from extraterrestrial threats. Due to her design, Mahoro's systems will cease functioning within roughly a month if she participates in combat; however, refraining from battle can extend her operational life to over a year. Separately, Suguru Misato is a high school student living by himself after the loss of his parents, struggling to maintain his large household. He often wishes for a maid to help around the house, but his situation changes dramatically when a girl wearing a maid outfit saves him from a bus hijacking—that girl is Mahoro. She decides to use her remaining time working as Suguru's maid. As Mahoro cherishes these ordinary days, she forms deep connections with Suguru and his circle of friends through their daily experiences together. Yet she conceals the true motive behind her choice to serve as his maid—a secret that hints at a far deeper link between their histories than Suguru suspects.

High school student Takeru Takemoto has a part-time job delivering items by motorcycle. While making a delivery, he spots a strange light zoom past him and ends up crashing into a forest. There, he discovers a beautiful girl emerging from a glowing cocoon, who introduces herself as "Hikari." Takeru feels very awkward due to Hikari being naked, but then a weird monster appears and immediately attacks them. Without fully understanding what is happening, both Takeru and Hikari unleash the powers of their alternate selves.

Akutsu Eita harbors a quiet crush on the popular Makina Agatsuma, but his shy nature keeps him from acting on it. To overcome this, he throws himself into robotics, hoping to build a companion bot that can secure him a spot as a lab assistant. One day, after school, Eita finds Makina injured outside his apartment. She reveals she's actually an android, built to seduce men and gather intel, but a system glitch prevents her from doing this properly. Grateful for his help, Makina declares Eita her new owner and moves in with him. Despite his repeated rejections, she keeps trying to seduce him, driven by her faulty programming, while Eita focuses on studying her complex design and mechanisms. As time passes, Makina's glitchy behavior grows more extreme, making her bolder and harder to avoid.

Kei and Mizuho are having some marital difficulties, and Mizuho's family decides it's high time for a visit.
