Things in Tomobiki are even more unusual than usual. The students are working hard to prepare for the first day of the student fair, which is supposed to happen the following day. But problems arise when certain individuals notice that the next day simply never arrives. As the students try to find the reason behind this, their concepts of reality and the world of dreams are put to the test.

Ryota Aizawa is a third-year student at the preparatory division of the Central Military Academy. In the year 2045 AD, he travels to the Aries space station for training alongside classmates Nagase Saka and Kazuhiko Nittak. Their mission is abruptly interrupted when the station comes under attack by the terrorist organization Hallarax, forcing the group to devise a plan to return to Earth.

When everyone in Tomobiki receives an invitation to Ataru's wedding, Lum goes ballistic—especially since she is not listed as the bride! The reason dates back eleven years, when Ataru played "Shadow Tag" with a young girl named Elle and won. Unfortunately, Elle is yet another alien princess, and on her home planet, stepping on a girl's shadow means they have to marry. When Elle's emissary arrives to make the arrangements, Lum redefines "the atmosphere was electric," but to no avail: a force field now protects Ataru from her high-voltage love zaps. Lum's friend Benten suggests a preemptive wedding, so they proceed to abduct Ataru and all the wedding guests, setting the stage for the shotgun wedding of all time!

Five supernatural factions have been locked in conflict for countless centuries, always keeping the arrival of the Aquarian Age in mind. Kyouta begins having visions of mystical girls battling, and soon discovers they are real. He and his girlfriend Yoriko are drawn into the struggle, and the fate of Earth and the Aquarian Age rests in their hands.

After peace was established across most of the universe by the Interstellar Alliance, the Cosmo Academy was founded. This institution is widely considered the most prestigious school in existence, and its graduates are all but guaranteed any career they choose. However, admission is only possible for those who pass the entrance exams held every three years, making the competition incredibly intense. Lane Tadatos is a Terran who has made it to the final stage of the examinations. Assigned to a group of 10 candidates, he is sent to the Esperanza—a ship drifting in orbit. The ultimate test requires them to survive aboard the ship for 53 days with no way to contact the outside world except for an emergency surrender button. But a critical issue arises when the examinees conduct a head count: there are 11 people on the Esperanza, meaning one of them is an impostor.

This anime is based on the original Argentine graphic novel series with the same name. The story follows the title character, a genetically engineered super-soldier created through Dr. Von Reichter's sinister experiments. Von Reichter is actually a former Nazi who conducted horrific experiments during World War II. He escapes to South America, where he continues his work, ultimately producing the "Cybers"—among them Cybersix. Because the Cybers develop free will at a young age (an undesirable trait), Von Reichter destroys them all to prevent any rebellion. In the present, Cybersix is one of the Cybers who managed to flee and lives quietly under the alias "Adrian Seidelman." However, she discovers that her survival depends on a special substance created by Von Reichter, forcing her to hunt down the "Technos"—a newer generation of his super-soldiers—to stay alive. Unintentionally, she becomes a superhero, protecting the world from Dr. Von Reichter's creations and his evil schemes.

On her sixteenth birthday, Honey Kisaragi sets out to see her father. He arrives injured and fleeing from pursuers. Suddenly, a band of thugs and a monster appear. Detective Seiji Hayama steps in to save Honey and her father, but the monster captures her father. Devastated, Honey returns home to find it destroyed. A mysterious handsome man offers her hope and a device to fight the monsters who took her father. With this device, Honey can assume multiple forms and defeat Panther Zora, the sinister force behind the attacks.

Li Meifon leads a complimentary protection and security firm that escorts vessels through outer space at no charge. Despite being only 16 years old, she demonstrates remarkable ability and leadership while commanding her crew aboard their ship, the Angel Links. However, disturbing recollections begin to surface, causing her to doubt her own history and purpose. Follow Li Meifon and the Angel Links crew as they journey across the Oracion star system, contending with pirates, governmental factions, and a Tao master, all while gradually revealing Meifon's concealed and shadowy origins.

When Lum was born, a postal error caused a witch who was a friend of the family not to receive an invitation to the celebration. In retaliation, the witch placed a curse on Lum, ensuring she would never find happiness with her True Love. In the present day, a new Amusement Park opens in Tomobiki, and on opening day the whole gang is there enjoying the attractions. During a magic show, Ataru is transformed into a giant pink hippopotamus—for real! As Lum tries to find the magician who changed her Darling, events grow increasingly bizarre and surreal.

Lupica, yet another space princess who apparently discovered Earth through some travel guide, shows up and kidnaps Ataru! However, she isn't after him for his looks or personality—he has neither. Lupica seeks the galaxy's most powerful love potion, which she plans to use to make her beloved agree to marry her. To obtain it, she requires the being with the strongest libido in the universe.

The Urusei Yatsura narrative reaches its peak in this animated adaptation of the final manga story (though not the last movie). Another of Lum's suitors, Lupa, arrives, forcing Lum and Ataru to replay their game of tag to keep Earth from being obliterated. To win, Ataru needs only to utter "I love you"—the three words he has stubbornly never spoken to Lum. Will he confess his genuine feelings and rescue the planet? Or will his stubbornness leave it to face annihilation?

Unusual occurrences start taking place in Tomobiki Town... When a large cherry tree known as "Tarozakura" is chopped down while Lum and her friends are filming a movie, Lum's horns disappear—along with her powers! This sets the stage for the most bizarre and poetic film in the Urusei Yatsura series.

As luck would have it, the fate of the world fell to the housewife's troublesome son. Surprisingly, young Ataru won the challenge—and as a result, Lum became an unexpected addition to the Moroboshi household. Ataru's mother now reflects on all the characters her son has gotten involved with—allies and enemies, human and alien—and the stress their antics have caused her. Unsure whether to admire her son's resilience or consider him pitiful, Mother Moroboshi can only wonder if her family will ever know peace and quiet again. Kaede is a young kunoichi who doubts her chosen path. Her elderly, ill-tempered master Yatsude insists she remain a ninja, and to make matters worse, Kaede has further angered her master by losing a confidential scroll in the woods. Meanwhile, Ataru finds his school excursion to the ancient capital of Nara tedious. But stumbling upon the scroll and catching Kaede's attention makes his field trip a bit more interesting.

This anime adapts the trilogy of novels by MAYUMURA Taku (眉村 卓). It follows a group of teenagers who are sent back in time across various periods of Japanese history, becoming involved in adventures with samurai.
