Synopsis
Shimamura draws inspiration from the reticulated structure of a real modern skyscraper, defined by the overwhelming noise of city traffic, to depict urban alienation in an abstract manner. His work transitions from optical art to spatial concepts akin to Escher’s stairs, accompanied by an electronic soundtrack that incorporates everyday sounds, such as a photocopier in operation.
