In the quiet town of Bellforest, 14-year-old Renton Thurston longs to escape his ordinary life and join the mercenary group Gekkostate. Torn between his grandfather's push for him to become a mechanic and the shadow of his deceased father, Renton finds his only thrill in riding Trapar wave particles, a local form of air surfing. Everything changes when a strange object crashes into his home—an advanced mecha called the Nirvash typeZERO, built to ride the Trapar waves. Its pilot is Eureka, a young Gekkostate member who asks for Renton's help maintaining the machine. This chance encounter launches Renton into a new adventure as he becomes the Nirvash's co-pilot alongside Eureka.

Kenichi comes across the disoriented Tima and tries to protect her from Rock, Duke Red's ruthless adopted son, who is pursuing the android. Believing Tima to be human, Kenichi grows close to her. Meanwhile, Shunsaku searches for Kenichi and uncovers dangerous schemes unfolding in the city's underground, including the essential role Tima plays in Duke Red's bid for control.

It becomes his responsibility to teach them and help their emotions develop. When a neighboring country threatens world domination, Otaru and his "human" Marionettes must defend their homeland.

35 years after Lynn Minmay's efforts brought peace between Zentradi and humanity during the Macross era, Nekki Basara serves as both guitarist and vocalist for the band Fire Bomber. He lives in an underdeveloped section of the flying colony City 7, which is searching for a habitable world, and he writes and performs songs believing music holds a deeper power. As the colony journeys through space, a mysterious alien race appears and begins attacking City 7. Her true aim is the galaxy's most potent love potion, which she plans to use to make her beloved agree to marriage. To obtain it, she requires the being with the strongest lust in the entire cosmos...

This animated feature brings the Urusei Yatsura saga to a boiling point by adapting the final story arc of the original manga, though it is not the series' concluding film. Lupa, another of Lum's suitors, arrives on Earth, forcing Lum and Ataru to rekindle their game of tag to stop the planet from being obliterated. Ataru's only path to victory is uttering the three words "I love you," which he has stubbornly refused to say to Lum.
