Synopsis
Sawako Machida, nicknamed "Miss Bernard," is a regular at the school library, always carrying a book—though whether she's actually read it is debatable. She admits that reading feels too troublesome and instead aims to appear well-read. Surrounded by sincere bibliophiles in the library, her casual attitude toward literature irritates those who hold their favorite works dear. Nonetheless, as she goes through the motions of reading and takes part in literary conversations with a quirky group of book enthusiasts, Sawako gradually picks up a few things and forms new friendships along the way.
