Synopsis
Rudolf, a pampered housecat who lives with Rie and her household, is accidentally carried away on a truck during one of Rie's errands, ending up far from home. However, he gets lucky when he encounters Ippaiattena, a stray cat that teaches him crucial survival techniques. Ippaiattena also has the special ability to read and write Japanese, a skill Rudolf learns to use to better understand his surroundings. Armed with this newfound capability, Rudolf sets off on a journey across Japan with the goal of reuniting with his cherished family.
Background
Rudolf to Ippaiattena adapts Hiroshi Saitou's 1987 children's book of the same name, for which he won the 27th Kodansha Award for New Writers of Children's Literature.
