Synopsis
Continues the story of Sumikko Gurashi Movie 1: Tobidasu Ehon to Himitsu no Ko
The Sumikko Gurashi franchise began in 2012, featuring characters with a slightly sorrowful nature who prefer to stay in corners. These include Shirokuma, a polar bear who feels the cold; Penguin?, a penguin uncertain about its own species; Tonkatsu, a lonely piece of pork cutlet; Neko, a shy cat; and Tokage, who hides his true identity as one of the last remaining dinosaurs. As the brand grew, it expanded into various merchandise such as toys, books, stationery, video games, and has now been developed into a feature-length film.
In this installment
One autumn day, the Sumikkogurashi head out for a camping trip. Gazing up at the sky, they spot a brilliant blue moon shining with unusual brightness. According to legend, "On the night of the big blue full moon, which appears once every five years, wizards will descend upon the town and grant one's wishes." Suddenly, five sibling wizards fly into the Sumikkogurashi's town! The park, the supermarket, the forest—the wizards cast spells on all these places, transforming the town into dazzling party venues. Before long, the fun-filled night draws to a close, and the wizards return to the moon. But how can this be? Tapioca is among them. Has Tapioca been mistaken for the wizard Five and gone along with them?
