Synopsis
One morning, a pair of brothers who live in a small cabin with their mother head into the mountains to lay deer traps. They creep quietly through the forest brush until a demonic arm suddenly thrusts out from above and seizes the younger brother. The elder brother steadies his trembling hands, aims with care, and releases an arrow, saving his sibling. The severed demon arm remains behind, and its appearance is strangely recognizable. Once they return home, a horrifying truth comes to light. Drawing from an early medieval Japanese folktale, the short film echoes the eerie psychological horror of Kwaidan. The Demon (1972) earned recognition at numerous animation festivals.
