Synopsis
After a devastating loss at the Grand Prix Finale, Yuuri Katsuki, once Japan's top figure skating hopeful, returns to his family home to reconsider his future. At twenty-three, with his chances of skating success fading, his love for tonkatsu and tendency to gain weight make things even harder. But Yuuri's luck takes an unexpected turn when a video of him performing a routine famously done by five-time world champion Victor Nikiforov goes viral online. To Yuuri's surprise, Victor arrives at his house and offers to become his coach. Excited by this chance, Yuuri, a longtime fan, accepts and begins a journey to regain his place on the international stage. His path is complicated by the ambitious Russian skater Yuri Plisetsky, who is equally determined to surpass Yuuri and win back Victor's guidance.
