In a setting where human consciousness can be transferred into robotic bodies known as I-Machines via the rare mineral orichalt, there exists a serious risk of becoming permanently trapped inside these mechanical forms. The Excavate Company, under the leadership of the infamous Grayman, is a bold crew of I-Machine miners who seek orichalt for profit. After Maya Mikuri, a student falsely accused of stealing orichalt secrets and abandoned by her teammates, is rescued, she joins the Excavate Company to prove her innocence. Her arrival initiates a life-changing journey for the group, particularly for Ido, a skilled member suffering from amnesia, who may finally have an opportunity to uncover his forgotten past.
