On February 29, 2000, a swarm of Möbius meteorites struck Earth, introducing a substance called Möbius Dust. This dust dissolves in the air and has the power to bring about miracles. The date of the meteorite fall became known as 2.29, and after that event, economic inequality in Japan skyrocketed. Discontent with the widening wealth gap, certain individuals resorted to terrorist acts in retaliation. In response, the police established a specialized unit to combat the terrorists, along with a training school for its members.

Long ago, a mermaid princess named Lara was cherished by her father, the sea king, and her sisters. One day, she fell in love with a human prince from the land—a love forbidden in the mermaid realm. Despite this, Lara journeyed to the surface and, using a potion from the witch Grace, became human. The potion came with a price: if she failed to find true love, she would turn into foam and vanish into the sea. Though she was a princess of the ocean, Lara chose love, but her wish went unfulfilled, and she disappeared. Two hundred years later, Lara awakens once more in Lake Biwa, determined to finally search for her true love. All because of "love."

During an expedition into a dungeon, where Ein typically stays at the rear, a dangerous enemy appears, prompting his teammates to use him as a decoy to save themselves. Using their extraordinary powers, they heal Ein's severe injuries and grant him the prosthetic "Spirit Eye," which gives him the ability to predict his opponents' actions and learn an endless number of skills. To help Ein escape the dungeon, Ursula takes on his training. After several weeks of intense training sessions, Ein's physical abilities are greatly enhanced, and he rescues Yuri and Ursula from the dungeon. Together, the three set out on a journey to reunite Yuri with her family and for Ein to become an unforgettable hero.
