Aimi Miyoshi and Nami Sometani, two high school students, are united by their shared interest in their ordinary classmate, Ken Kirio. Most of their time together is spent talking about Kirio and daydreaming about becoming closer to the boy they typically only watch from a distance. For the most part, Aimi and Nami are content with how things are, though sometimes they feel a bit jealous of people who have more direct contact with their crush. Still, this rarely motivates them to act on their feelings.

On a spring evening in Tokyo, before the start of the firework season, university student Kakeru Mano meets Koharu Fuyutsuki. Koharu, a bright and energetic person who radiates warmth, catches Kakeru’s attention. Despite his reserved nature, Kakeru finds himself drawn to her cheerful demeanor. Unbeknownst to him, Koharu is blind, but this does not stop her from going about her daily life, taking part in club activities, making friends, and even hoping to one day see fireworks. Kakeru wonders about the source of her aspirations, but he gradually comes to understand the value of hope and encouragement. Inspired by Koharu’s steadfast spirit, Kakeru begins to think about moving forward himself, driven by the girl who has always been by his side.
