The narrative centers on Dongfang Yuechu and Tushan Honghong, detailing their love story set five hundred years in the past. When he is young, Dongfang Yuechu accidentally arrives in Tushan and stays there as a menial servant. Over the years, to realize Tushan Honghong's aspiration of harmonious relations between humans and demons, Dongfang Yuechu departs Tushan and becomes a member of the Yi Qi Dao Alliance, ultimately becoming its chief. Yet as matters appear to be going well, threats start to loom.
