In "The Journey Home," the narrative follows Mick, a chironomid in a dormant state. Taken by humans for scientific study, Mick and other insects are launched on an ambitious interplanetary voyage aiming for Earth. After the human-run experiments abruptly stop, the bugs are stranded on the space station with meager supplies. Overcoming obstacles and forging bonds with newfound allies across various worlds, they press onward toward their origin planet. As the journey progresses, the motives behind humanity's sudden departure grow more evident.
