Third installment of the Mononoke movie.

Every few decades, the Wild Hunt—a procession of fairy knights on horseback—emerges and travels across the land, causing old plants to wither and making room for fresh growth. However, a lightning strike on the stone monument where the Wild Hunt lies dormant dislodges a fragment containing the leader of the group. As a result, when the Hunt reawakens, its members lose their formation and wander aimlessly through the woods, leaving destruction in their wake. To address this issue, Spriggan commissions Elias Ainsworth to retrieve the lost guide’s steed and return it to its rightful owner. Simultaneously, Gabriel, a young boy with asthma who longs for adventure, stumbles upon the broken stone and inadvertently summons the knight entrapped within. With his sole clear memory being the necessity to return, the guide must find his horse and rejoin his fellow riders before the consequences of his absence become irreparable.

A general two-week theatrical run in Japan, split into two parts, launched on the same day, October 17, 2025. The series later began streaming globally on Amazon Prime Video on November 8, 2025.

In a dystopian near-future, Japan is in ruins after being devastated by nuclear warfare, natural disasters, and deep-seated corruption that sparked a violent uprising. The shattered nation is now ruled by three competing superpowers, ushering in a new era reminiscent of the historical Three Kingdoms period. Diplomacy has been abandoned, replaced by ruthless battles for supremacy where each faction uses its formidable military forces and resources to dominate the remaining land. Aoteru Misumi, a previously inconspicuous minor official, is driven by an intense wish to halt the relentless bloodshed destroying the nation. Despite lacking royal ancestry or a martial background, Misumi aspires to reunite Japan through his sharp intellect and compelling speeches, aiming to rally the people. This is the origin tale of a future master military strategist.

In the aftermath of relentless assaults that have drained the magical energy from both students and staff, Headmistress Liza Quillyn decides to seal off the College, preventing anyone from entering or leaving. This forces Philomela Sargant to remain at the institution, unable to follow her grandmother Lizbeth's order to depart. Confined within the College, Chise Hatori and her classmates begin adjusting to their new, uneasy circumstances. However, Philomela's health steadily declines, affecting both her mental and physical state. Simultaneously, more details of Chise's roommate Lucy Webster's tragic past come to light. Amidst her worries for her friends and the changes she is experiencing within herself, Chise may finally uncover the true identity of the enigmatic figure responsible for the energy-sapping incidents at the College.

In "The Ancient Magus' Bride Season 2," Chise Hatori, an apprentice mage, receives an invitation to join the College, a prestigious academy for sorcerers, so she can investigate and possibly remove the curses burdening her. Though her fiancé, Elias Ainsworth, has doubts, Chise decides to enroll, hoping it will help her break her habit of putting herself in harm's way. Right from the start, Chise fascinates both her fellow students and teachers, none of whom have ever witnessed a mage at work. Yet a sinister scheme unfolds within the College, and Chise must figure out who she can trust and who she cannot to stop this malicious plan.
