In "Look Back," fourth-grader Ayumu Fujino earns recognition for the hand-drawn four-panel comics she contributes to her school newspaper. Her world is shaken when she is paired with Kyoumoto, a secluded and enigmatic student whose artistic talent far exceeds her own, making Fujino feel inadequate for the first time.
Driven to close that gap, Fujino throws herself into mastering manga creation over the course of a year, yet Kyoumoto's ability remains out of reach. Dejected, Fujino gives up on her efforts. A year later, at their graduation ceremony, she finally meets Kyoumoto and learns that the shy, stammering girl has long admired her work. This encounter reignites Fujino's passion for drawing, paving the way for a lasting friendship rooted in their shared love of manga and a spirit of friendly rivalry.
