Fifty years ago, monstrous beings called the "enemies of humanity" appeared across the world. To counter these threats, young people with special abilities known as "Talents"—such as controlling fire or manipulating time—are trained at a remote island academy. Nanao Nakajima stands out because he lacks any such Talent. Though he often faces mistreatment from his more gifted classmates, he continues his training. The situation changes with the arrival of two new students: the mysterious Kyouya Onodera and Nana Hiiragi, who has telepathy. As the group starts to form bonds as nakama, strange disappearances begin to disturb the class's peace.
